Stuffed Cabbage Cake

Prep Time: 25 Minutes, Cook Time: 40 Minutes


  • 1 head of cabbage (savoy preferred)
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 3 large carrots roughly chopped
  • 1/2 white onion thinly sliced
  • 3 garlic cloves minced
  • 2 tbsp basil
  • 2 tbsp rosemary
  • 2 large eggs


  • In a medium sized pot, begin to brown the ground beef in medium-high heat
  • Once the meat is fully cooked, turn down the heat to a summer and stir in the chopped carrots, onion, garlic, basil, rosemary, and eggs
  • NOTE: Be careful not to let your eggs scramble when incorporating
  • Let everything simmer for 10 minutes or until the vegetables are tender
  • Next, grease a tall, round dish with butter and begin to layer your cabbage and ground beef mixture until you reach the top of your dish
  • Alternate every other layer, starting and ending with the cabbage
  • Bake for 40 minutes at 350 degrees
  • Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes
  • To serve, place a cutting board or platter on top of the pot and flip everything upside down (speed is your friend here)
  • Hopefully it will fall right out and you are left with a beautiful cabbage cake ready to serve! Enjoy!
