Simple Pleasures: Fire Pits & S’Mores
It’s Fall & we finally have a backyard to hang out in!! A couple of nights ago we decided to break out the fire-pit (given to us by our friends, Amy & Greg) and do S’Mores.
It was so beautiful to just sit out in the brisk night with sweats on & to warm our bare feet near the fire…
It was just Dave & Christian (& of course Ashby!) and me, but we had enough s’mores for 6+ people.
And of course Christian helped find the perfect sticks…
Christian had the best time with Daddy:
While I’m so happy with my perfect little fire pit, I wouldn’t mind one of these built-in ones below… (image from strawbridgefarm.com) and am now working up plans & a yard location in my mind for the future. (don’t worry, WAY future!)

If you don’t have a fire pit (or the time to make one) I found a few places with pretty ones. The artisan John Tunger makes beautiful ones:
Front Gate of course has some nice ones but they’re on the pricier side and if I were going to SPEND on a fire pit (some are in the thousands… granite, marble, etc.) I’d rather have one built…
