HOMEWORK #9: Playroom Clean-up!
Hey hey hey! I hope your Thanksgiving was a good one! We visited my dad in Wisconsin and -of course- ate way too much food. It was so great to just veg and DO. NOTHING.
Since the HOMEWORK episodes on”catch-alls,” I’ve gotten a few questions about where we keep all “the toys” and this week, I’m going down to the basement- a place I don’t often venture- where most of the toys live -to get it in working order and CLEAN IT UP!! (The photo above is actually of the girls’ bedroom which is in much better shape than the basement & really has nothing to do with the episode other than that it’s a photo of toys 😉 )

When doing a big clean-up, I always bring a “donate” bag and a “trash” bag (not sure why but there is always legit trash in the playroom??!!! Along with broken plastic or course) and ONE very key ingredient. 😉 😉 Hope you enjoy! To join in and share photos of your finished spaces, post and tag with #ididmyhomework !
And from last week’s HOMEWORK, I was able to find that sweater dress! I’ve had it for a few years but they still make it in other colors here.
It’s one of the coziest things I own and I keep coming back to it year after year.

I’m a regular follower/infrequent commenter, but had to chime in here: I was so pleased that you had your kids take ownership of cleaning up their own space. My 3yo still needs a lot of hands-on guidance, but I’m trying to teach him about cleaning up his toys/dishes, etc. I also have a 17yo stepdaughter who wasn’t raised to do any of this stuff, so it’s especially relevant and important to me to see kids involved in cleaning up and then getting to experience the associated reward (even if the reward is “only” parents’ praise and affection and personal satisfaction). I love this Homework series, but this assignment is my favorite to date.
