Flower Forage

It’s been a looooong time but HOMEWORK is back!  Now that we’re nearing the end of summer (not letting go yet!) we’ve been busy back at our house- organizing, attempting to set up workspaces for the kids, gardening, cooking, and attempting to make our chaotic life a little simpler/ prettier so we’ve got a lot of projects lined up!

The end-of-summer brings the prettiest weeds and wildflowers so this week on HOMEWORK (episode #23 FLOWER FORAGE) I went after them!! As a kid, my favorite flowers to pick were always the wildflowers that grew roadside and in fields in the summertime because I could just pick them and have them- unlike the more cultivated blooms in the garden. Many of my flower patterns are based on wildflowers & “weeds” and they just bring me back to that carefree summertime feeling from childhood. I’ve been working on a wildflower hill for a few years now at home and this year the goldenrod didn’t disappoint!

Join in by foraging for some of your own weeds this week!  If you want to share your pics post and tag them on Instagram with #ididmyhomework

I love this time of year!

Girl – I absolutely love your style and your sweet family – but down here in the Deep South, that Goldenrod is Ragweed and it is causing terrible allergies! My son is sneezing his head off, “it’s not corona!” – 😉

lol aw hang in there!! (We are sun sneezers here and feel the same way haha) Goldenrod and ragweed look really similar but ragweed is generally way worse on allergies!! xoxo
