The Lost Cottage House Tour
Hello and I hope you’re having a wonderful summer! Dave and I and the kids are working from the Outer Banks for most of the summer while we wait for the Meadow house to be finished up. We have some fun projects going on down here and I’m SO excited to share the full video house tour of the Lost Cottage with you!! This baby has been a long time coming and I’ve had to keep it all under wraps until my book came out!!

After almost five years, we decided to sell our beloved Lost Cottage and and move on to another project in need of some love. To say I’m in love with the Lost Cottage is an understatement… the place has changed my life and just thinking about it makes me happy. BUT, at only 800 square feet and with all five of our kids in one bedroom, as the kids started getting older (our oldest is 17 this summer!! time flies!!) it became apparent though it had been so good for us when the kids were little, we’d either have to add on or move to something with more bedrooms in the future. As we thought about adding on, we realized it wasn’t a smart financial move and we also felt like it would ruin the charming spirit of the place. So… we began scouring real estate listings once again, and lo and behold, a nearby house (mentioned in my new book, Beach Life) that we had originally wanted when we first went house hunting down in the Outer Banks had come back on the market and we snapped it up. We passed on it the first time around because it needed a lot of work and was too large to take on financially, but this time around, the last owners had made so many improvements (new siding, windows, roof, hvac etc!!!) that it was feasible!! The interiors still need a full renovation but the innards are all good which is amazing!! I’ll be sharing the full tour of that one soon!
