Things we should have been doing all along

This whole situation has me thinking about all the ways in which we were living, the habits our family developed and the corners we’ve cut for so long… always thinking, “I should…” or “I’ll fix this later” or “maybe next time.” We’ve been forced to change those habits and I don’t ever want to go back to that kind of complacency again.  Each day it seems there’s an action we’re forced to take that we should have been doing all along… each drop of milk is literally precious, eggs are a luxury and don’t even get me started on the TP situation over here… things I knew were right but just didn’t do out of convenience or because I didn’t have “enough time,” always thinking one day things would slow down enough so I could live the way I wanted to. I don’t want to go back to that after this is all over and we’ve been doing a lot of soul-searching over here as to how to keep up the pace but not cut precious corners.  I don’t have the answer but I thought it might be cool if we all shared the things we’re observing and waking up to- that little bit of silver lining and understanding that I hope we as humans keep with us for the rest of our lives. I’ll be posting “things we should have been doing all along” & feel free to join in and share with #nevertoolatetochange on Instagram … First up is, we should have been doing cloth napkins at almost every meal… we knew it but we didn’t because the paper towels were just so much “easier.” I want to try to treat paper towels like a precious resource forever.

Ciao, Lauren! I had a lovely friend who grew up in a wealthy family in New York state. At their dining table, each family member had a cloth napkin for the week–and after a meal, the napkin was rolled up and placed in a silver napkin ring (engraved initials optional). This is how a stylish family made cloth napkins last for multiple meals.

Long walks with my family. Buying only what we need. Making a morning coffee for my husband. Calling my parents more regularly. Focusing on my mental health. Learning there’s no better time to just “do” instead of saying “I should”. These are just a few of the things I should have been doing all along. Enjoy your weekend Lauren.

An observation…it isn’t that paper towels are easier…cloth napkins take precious resources like water and washer/dryer energy and more soap in the water supply/ecosystem. Absolutely everything has a price. Also, one use paper towels or paper napkins allow the germs from mouth, hands, etc. to be eliminated from the table, instead of having the germs fester in a cloth napkin for days. It is just a choice, no judgement. But it is good that everyone is taking the time to be thoughtful in their choices!

HI Lynn, Almost everyone can fit 6-8 cloth napkins into a regular load of laundry that they would be doing anyway, so they really do not use up resources that were not already being used.

We’re grateful to have our son temporarily with us during the shelter in place order. He is staying separate from us because of risk factors, in the part of our home that includes our washer and dryer. I’m typically eager to try new/old things so I’m washing the laundry for my husband and I in our kitchen sink. The washing is easy as I fill the big sink and apply soap directly to any needed spots before leaving everything to soak overnight. In the morning I do a thorough rinse and check that everything is clean and soap free. Then comes the fun part. It is so nice to be outside hanging things on the clothes lines (that I strung myself). It’s such a beautiful time of year to be outside and it’s a quiet, sweet task. I’ve found my way from something I might like to do to knowing how to actually do it. It will be easy to do with the things I discover are really lovely when dried outdoors. I just learned that my Aunt and Uncle, in their mid eighties, use a clothes line and that they enjoy hanging their laundry together. They use their dryer during rainy weather and for things they want fluffy but they use their clothes line for most items. I’m happy to have discovered something else to admire about these very special people and I’ve found a new pleasure for myself.

Not going back on really getting to know my kids and making objects that show the passage of time- making a rag rug right now and every ring shows the passing of days like the rings of a tree trunk. After all of this it will be nice to see something beautiful and tangible that came from the passing weeks.

As with iPhone gambling apps, Google doesn’t allow offshore casinos, poker sites, and sportsbooks to offer native Android apps through Google Play. As a result, the best Android gambling apps are also of the “web app” variety, and you can access them through Chrome or any other modern web browser (Firefox, Opera, etc.). Some slot games have great compatibility on the desktop rather than androids. This also depends on whether you have installed a flash version of that particular casino game on your phone. But, comparatively, it is better to choose laptops over apps. Of course, as the main idea of mBit Casino is to offer a great gaming time to cryptocurrency users, it will allow its patrons to use Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, Litecoin, Tether and Dogecoin for their deposits. The minimum amount you are allowed to deposit is 0.0001 BTC, 0.01 ETH, 0.01 LTC, 0.01 DOG. Cryptocurrencies will allow you to handle your payments in an extremely secure manner and as many people consider Bitcoin the future of money, it is only natural for virtual players to be able to use cryptocurrencies for their casino fundings. https://profesornativoingles.com/community/profile/nevahrk96872588/ Interac is split into e-Transfer and Interac online. Depending on the online casino you are playing at, different options may be available. Interac Online is usually more advantageous as it provides a more straightforward transaction process. In principle, however, these methods are the same, as they both provide a gateway between your bank and casino accounts. A no deposit casino can be both a casino that gives out a lot of free casino bonuses but also a casino as 888 that offers a lot of no deposit options. Just check in each day to see what offers are featured, make the required deposit if needed, and take advantage of super chances to earn a deposit casino bonus, free spins, cashback, and more. The majority of casino bonuses will have wagering requirements in place, so be sure to check the terms of the promo to learn how much must be bet before being able to withdraw bonus payouts.
