Our clients Lynne & John’s home is featured in this November’s Better Homes and Gardens Magazine & I’m so excited to share a little peek of it with you! (Please forgive my terrible scans.)   I’ve said it before, and I’m sure you’ll hear it from me again, but we’re really fortunate to get to work with some of the nicest people out there.  I’m not quite sure what it is, but we really just have the sweetest clients who are just so wonderful to work for, which is honestly the most important aspect of a project to me.  These particular clients found me through their daughter,  a blog reader, and we loved working with them.

Here is our client, Lynne, with her adorable baby granddaughter in the living room:

{You might remember the before & after from a while back.    We added more seaweed prints to the space and I think it really finishes it off.}

Here’s a photo from my portfolio of one of my favorite chairs that didn’t quite fit in the overall magazine photo:

I love this flower arrangement, styled by Jessica Thomas:

{The drop leaf table and mirror are Lynne & John’s family pieces}

Here’s John with their son and granddaughter in the living area off of the kitchen, where they cozy up by the fire:

{This is one of my favorite spots in the house… a 4 chair arrangement is just incredibly cozy}

Here’s a shot of the sitting area, from my portfolio, not shown in the magazine:

Here’s a photo of the kitchen, living and dining space, also from my portfolio, to give you an idea of how the room connects:

And here’s another view of the kitchen :

{We had the existing cabinetry painted, and change the island from a two-tired island to a one-level island for more space and to open up the kitchen.  We added new jewelry to the kitchen- backsplash, lighting and hardware. }

To see the whole story and the rest of the photos, check out the current issue on newsstands.  It’s filled with details on paint colors, where everything’s from, etc.  (BTW… we’ve been getting lots of phone calls and emails with sourcing questions so I wanted to let you know that If there’s anything in the BHG issue that’s not sourced, it’s because I don’t recall where it’s from, it’s not in our records, or it was a one-of-a-kind item.  Whenever stories are featured in magazines, I do my best to share everything I can, but often, these stories come out years after the projects are completed and I’ve sourced everything I can.)  Hope you enjoyed this little peek!!

*The story is by Sally Finder, with photos are by Helen Norman, and the styling is by Jessica Thomas, assisted by Mike Grady.  I LOOOVE working with Jessica on photoshoots because she really brings life to a home… beautiful accessories, tableware and the prettiest food ever!!!  Mike also MADE the wreath on the front page of the story out of the bright orange leaves in Lynne & John’s yard!!  CarrMichael Construction did the renovation.
