Yesterday was a whirlwind with a broker’s open party at our newest property going for sale!!  We had such a nice group of agents show up to preview the house with seriously delicious bites made by my friend, personal chef, Victoria Cortes.  (We have leftovers and it’s all I can think about right now!!)  For our brokerage, Property Collective, this party was a big deal, not only for sharing the property with other agents but for introducing Property Collective as a brokerage to the real estate community.  We opened our doors about a year and a half ago and it’s been a serious undertaking for us and -especially- our partners, Maura & Daan DeRaedt.

I can’t tell you how many times we were all told that it couldn’t be done.  That we couldn’t just open a brokerage. Thankfully, we’re all pretty hard-headed and we went for it anyway.  I watched as Maura – with two little kids these same ages as my youngest two- pulled all-nighters and studied with everything she had to pass her tests to get her broker’s license for the company and worked tirelessly on all of the branding for the company, running its social media and making every single person involved feel special.  I’ve watched as Daan makes cold calls for about three hours every morning 5-6 days a week and closed over 100 deals with his amazing team last year.  Both of them doing everything with kindness and grace.

Yesterday was one of those moments that kind of made it all feel real.  When you first start a business, it takes time to hit your stride and as you bleed cash you just give it everything you’ve got, holding on so strongly to the belief that your idea is a good one.  I’ve been doing that with this incredible group of people for the last year or so and I couldn’t be more thankful for them all or more proud of everyone.

For anyone in the area interested,we’re having open houses at the property this Saturday and Sunday (March 7th & 8th) from  1-3 PM.  Happy Friday and hope you have an amazing weekend!!
