I was beyond gaga to pick up a copy of this season’s Luxe Magazine with our clients’ home on the cover!!

If you’ve been reading Pure Style Home for a while, you might remember me talking through the plans over three years ago.  We started in the living room and kitchen and moved onto the other rooms in the house.  I loved working with my client because not only is she a truly caring person, but also because she’s extremely design savvy.  (She actually found me by getting in touch with Jenny from Little Green Notebook who recommended me- thank you so much Jenny!) Here’s a peek at what the great room looked like ‘before’ (below) and you’ll see that my clients  had some nice pieces which we kept and used throughout the home.  For example, the large leather ottoman in this photo is the same one (now slipcovered in an embroidered linen) in the Luxe cover photo above.

The gold sofa in the cover photo was previously in the basement family room and because it was so comfortable, my clients wanted to use it upstairs in the great room, which they hang in daily.  We swapped it with the teal sofa above.  My client wanted a lighter, fresh feeling with pretty details.  She has definite glam tendencies yet wanted to keep the house comfortable and practical enough for her young family so the home is a blend of formal & informal elements, matte and shiny, high and low.

To see the whole house, check out the DC Winter issue of Luxe!!  (It will be on newstands for a few months as Luxe is a quarterly/ seasonal magazine…  I saw copies at Whole Foods and Barnes & Nobles.)  Thank you so much to the team at Luxe including writer Charlotte Safavi for including our clients’ home in the magazine.
