Happy Tuesday!! I’m a day late on posting HOMEWORK this week (due to some really fun technical difficulties posting) but it’s UP and this week we’re decking the halls (basically, the mantle.) I’m a baby stepper when it comes to holiday decorating and usually start with garlands and wreaths earlier in December and them get to the tree around mid-December. When I do my garlands- my indoor ones are faux- I like to add in some cut greenery to make them look/ feel more alive/ real. I usually cut branches from outside or keep the leftovers from the Christmas tree but this year I decided to go with poinsettias!! Fruit/ pine cones etc would be pretty too – basically anything natural that you can add to give them a little bit of life!
Here are a couple of photos of the garland on my mantle:
I ended up getting a little bit of help from Aurora on this one.

As an FYI- the poinsettias were about about 2 days before I started to notice any wilting…. I’ve had them in vases before and they’ve lasted over a month so it’s possible that when they’re cut super short like that in the smaller tube, the water just isn’t as fresh because it’s so small that they don’t do as well. Good luck!!
We’re headed to NYC today (a day early to try to avoid the snow driving) for some fun events with One Kings Lane. I’m doing a fun “fireside chat” with the team and then we’re having a design panel and book party at the Soho store. If you’re in the area, I’d love to meet you!! xoxo
