Pub Day!!!
I can’t believe this day is here but today’s the day my 4th book- Beach Life: Home, Heart & the Sea- comes out!!! This book has been on my heart for years and I’m so happy it’s finally out!! Writing Beach Life was a journey for me in every sense of the word… I wrote it over a long period of time and was actually designing it in the midst of renovating some of the home in it as I wrote. I’ll be honest, everything was not coming up roses during this time and I was feeling all the feels, but it was also a time of letting go and growth. The ocean and these houses taught me some lessons and I’m grateful for that. Beach Life is about the connected experiences, emotions, and physical sensations we all experience at the beach… the unique elements of the beach that just hit your soul and change you for the better so I guess it’s fitting I experienced more of that when writing the book.
I wrote Beach Life because I wanted to explore why we feel different at the beach… I wanted to understand what it is about the coast that changes us, why we leave better. Along with delving into the designs and stories behind some of my favorite beach houses we’ve done, Beach Life is an exploration into all the the beach does for us – physically (did lots of research on things like negative ions, sunshine and grounding!) mentally, and spiritually. I am hoping this book can be that perfect afternoon escape that to me is eye candy mixed with stories plus a call to change and grow. I have never wanted a book of mine read more because I think this one can help.
