Today’s the day!! My collection with Rugs USA is launching!! It’s been a dream of mine for so long to create a rug collection of natural fiber rugs mixed with patterned rugs for layering that was timeless yet accessible and affordable.
When designing rooms, I love to layer patterned rugs- often antique or vintage- over natural fiber rugs for a timeless, personal vibe with earthy texture. This first collection features thirty rugs made with mixing and matching in mind: natural fibers including jute, seagrass, and sisal, along with patterned natural fiber blends based on antique designs, machine washable antique-inspired rugs, and outdoor rugs.
Rugs cover a massive amount of square footage in a room and have the ability to completely transform how a space feels- changing a color palette, level of formality, vibe, and textures. I knew when we did this collection that it needed to be filled with timeless, quality pieces that could either be statement-makers or quietly add layers of texture to let other elements in a room speak up.
When the team at Rugs USA mentioned that they had the ability to make machine washable rugs, I was extremely skeptical, but when I saw a sample rug, I was (pleasantly) shocked. They were soft and thin like a vintage rug, with the appearance of patina. (!!) (And then I saw the price points which were amazing!!) I now have one in my bathroom as a runner (I’m totally in love… it’s the runner version of the top right rug above) and we did one in one of the bedrooms at Dune House (left rug in the above pic) and it totally makes the room. To be clear, these rugs are not antique look-alikes or intended to replace an antique or vintage rugs- which you know Iove- but they do share some of the same qualities while having a completely different functional value in that they can be washed in the washing machine and are meant to be used in places where “accidents” happen.
Many of the rugs in this first collection are “building block” natural fiber rugs with various interesting weaves. There are lots of different jute rugs like the striped jute “sycamore” rug above and the “juniper” tile patterned rug below.

They’re beautiful on their own (above) or layered (below).
Honey Bear (our hound-lab-Pyrenees mix, above) made lots of appearances in the photoshoot.

There are lots of fun Q&As and videos all about rugs/ my design philosophy etc over there too! If you have any questions, be sure to leave them in the comments section. 🙂 Hope you enjoy!
The photos & videos in this post and used throughout the launch were from a (magical!) photoshoot full of the sweetest people we had at our place in early October. It was one of the most incredible shoots/ teams to be a part of and I’ll be forever grateful for everyone who worked on it. Definitely a pinch-me moment.
